Mission of the Festival of learning:
Learning Festival is a manifestation of the network of nongovernmental and governmental organizations and individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which encourages and develops consciousness about the need of lifelong learning and promoting educative activities that contributes to the quality and the joy of living.
Goals of the project:
a.. Promoting of the idea of life long learning and improvement of the quality of life by comprehending large number of users.
b.. Initiating of making the positive legislative will improve system of education and create conditions for the lifelong learning.
c.. Media promotion with the aim to support the Festival from local and international community.
d.. To form coordination body because of establishing network structure and mechanisms for continued communication and exchange of information.
e.. Strategic strengthening of the network and the competence of certain segments of the organization, as presumption for the successful realization of festival.
Expected results:
1.. Increased number of citizens and institutions in BIH that are familiar with idea of lifelong learning.
2.. Increased number of governmental and nongovernmental organizations and individuals included in the festival
3.. Printed promote-informative material, which includes brochures, with explanations of the idea of lifelong learning (Festival), information about governmental and nongovernmental organizations and individuals involved in the Festival

Ways of realizations: (Time frame)
Project lasts for 10 months, and the Festival will be organized in course of 5 (five) days in the first week of the October in different towns in BIH- in both entities, Serbs Republic and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With the aim of promotional of different ways of education HO Amica Educa started the organization of Learning Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On 8. Of September year 2000 Firs Festival of Learning in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been held in Tuzla. That was one daylong manifestation that gathered 42 organizations, institutions and individual involved in the education process with purpose to promote their modern, alternative, and creative methods and approaches to education.
External evaluation of the First Learning Festival (presented in the brochure) brought several references that will help in better organization the next festivals and encouraging the process of learning citizens. The most important fact is the Festival to be expended in whole BIH (Federation and Serbs Republic) and to holding that should be synchronized and expended to larger number of days through equal involvement of the representatives the governmental and nongovernmental sector.
Idea of promotion of the lifelong learning trough Festival has the support of the international community. That is showed in the conclusions of the Fifth International Conference of adult education held in Hamburg in year 1998. sponsored by UNESCO.
"...Education of adults becomes more than the rule: it becomes the key for the twenty-first century . Learning of adults can shape identity of life and give it the meaning. ".
Considering the fact that the society of knowledge and information develops rapidly, lifelong learning became one of the most important factors for the individuals, for the economy, society and politics. In the future, there will be increased dependency of orientation of the community, region and country in economical, social and political way, based on the fact in what kind of condition is the knowledge and further education of the citizens. With all specific marks of our community that is in transition.
Institute for the International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association - IIZDVV from Sarajevo, recognized the value of the idea of the Festival, after end of the First Festival, and gave full support and help in evaluation and preparation of the brochure about First Learning Festival.
Amica Educa is coordinator on national BIH level.
Preparations for the new Festival started earlier in both BIH entities. Two seminars for the co-organizers of the festival were held. It was made strategic planning for the Festival until year 2004, and formed coordination body for activities at BIH level. The representatives from following towns are included in organizational activities: Bratunac, Derventa, Bosanski-Srpski Brod, Banja Luka, Doboj, Sarajevo, Mostar, Gornji Vakuf, Biha_, Zenica, Gora_de, District Br_ko, and this the best indicator of the multiethnic nature of the project, as a way of over becoming the differences and gathering closer whole Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Giving support to the project of Second Learning Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina, idea of lifelong learning and adult education is also encouraged. It involves different areas in BIH, in the Federation as well as in the Serbs Republic, what makes it the unique manifestation in the territory of BIH and this part of South-East Europe.
Amica Educa uses modern approaches in psychosocial work and makes the influence on development of the consciousness. By means of these can be learned how to help yourself and others and how to make the impact on the quality of life, social events, tolerance and common life.
By supporting this project we support process of learning as condition for participation all citizen in development of future in territory of BIH.
On national level staff that is engaged is: Festival coordinator, technical secretary and specialists-leaders of the activities by the areas (opening/closing, awarding, calendar of the events, propaganda and marketing, media campaigns and the film). Actively, or on voluntary bases, coordination body made out of 10 members are engaged.
