In partnership with Active Parramatta, funded by Sports Australia, the over 55s Leisure and Learning Service will be running free activities online via Zoom in Term 3 (from 20 July)!

Do you enjoy singing? The Newington Community Choir is just the place for new or experienced singers who would like to sing a classical and contemporary repertoire with others in a relaxed, friendly environment where no audition .

Singing supports relaxation and reduces stress. It is also fun!

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a new participant, a registration form must be completed via the link below and return it to the office for processing – this is required to be filled in so you can register with your online booking.

English Conversation Class LIVE ONLINE: Beginner

Join our weekly online conversational English lessons for students of beginner level. The classes will be delivered online using Zoom.

o join this class, participants need to:

  • Be a current member of Randwick City Library. Library membership is free and you can join online.
  • Be a resident of Australia, aged 18 years and over and from a background where English is not the first language spoken.
  • Have access to a computer, a tablet/iPad, or a smartphone, as well as a reasonably reliable internet connection.
  • Know basic computer skills (we will not be able to provide technology support during the class).
  • Have an email address for receiving the invitation link before the class starts.
  • Register through Eventbrite in advance (only one registration is required for each term).

Once you have registered, you will receive an automatic confirmation email containing further information for the classes. We will send you a link to join the class 2 hours prior and another reminder 15 minutes prior to the first session so please check your email inbox. Use the same link to join all sessions of this recurring event.

Our popular Strength & Balance class, for Seniors runs each Wednesday. The class teaches proven exercises to increase your strength, balance, core stability and overall physical capability. If you need a chair four this class, they will be available – this class is for any senior wanting to build or improve on their current balance and strength. It is ideal for helping with everyday activities.

Ideally the class is for the 60+ age range, who need to concentrate on strength and balance. We have chairs available should these be needed for those who are beginners or need to build up core strength.

Cost: $5 per class. This class has been subsided by North Sydney Council
