Explore the 8 limbs of yoga through a practical approach to optimise your physical and mental well-being.

Due to popular demand Tej Gyan Global Foundation is offering 20 free online ‘Ashtanga’ Yoga sessions to help us all stay fit and healthy.

Yoga is not just practicing postures (Asana) and breathing exercises (Pranayama). It is a lifestyle.

Sage Patanjali, from India, has given an eight-fold path or a practical guide leading to liberation called Ashtanga Yoga. Ashtanga literally means “eight limbs”. Asanas and Pranayama are just two of the eight limbs.

During these 20 sessions, we will learn about the 8 limbs of Yoga and try simple practical techniques to apply them in our daily lives. These techniques will guide us to live a healthy, happy, blissful and purposeful life.

Author Talk with Fiona McArthur

Gympie Library QLD Gympie

event Sunday September 6th
General education

Author Fiona McArthur joins us to discuss her writing, experiences and her new book.

Drawing from her life as a rural midwife, Fiona McArthur shares her love of working with women, families and health professionals in her books. In her compassionate, pacey fiction, her love of the Australian landscape meshes beautifully with warm, funny, multigenerational characters as she highlights challenges for rural and remote families, and the strength shared between women. Happy endings are a must.

Fiona is the author of non-fiction book Aussie Midwives, and lives on a farm with her husband in northern New South Wales. She was awarded the NSW Excellence in Midwifery Award in 2015.

This is an online program which will be hosted with Zoom and is brought to you as part of Gympie Regional Libraries WriteFest 2020.

This event is sponsored by the Bendigo Bank of Gympie.
