The Australian outback is perhaps one of the best places to explore the galaxy of stars in the night sky. The low humidity and minimal light pollution in the red centre allow you to view the stars and planets like you’ve never seen them before.

Learn more about the stars, planets, galaxy, Big Bang theory and cosmos with Ayers Rock Resort’s Astronomer in Residence Program, brought to you in partnership with ASTRO 3D.

FREE ASTRONOMY INFO SESSIONS

Join one of the free Astronomy Information Sessions & Activities and meet and interact with the astrophysicist in residence.

These interactive astronomy sessions are held daily Monday to Friday.

Digital Inclusions is a community-focused not-for-profit social enterprise based in Northern Territory with a goal of helping make the lives of Australians enriched by improving and addressing their digital exclusions in the state. Digital Inclusions provide exciting workshops and face to face in-depth training sessions for over 50’s, people with disability, Job seekers, parents returning to work, Indigenous people as well as people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

The workshops are designed to deliver a range of resources specifically designed to support the target community to increase their confidence, skills and online safety when they use the internet and everyday technology. They will be able to learn the basics of going online, including:

  • Being safe while online
  • Talking to or seeing family and friends who live far away, more often
  • Finding new friends or old friends who share similar interests and hobbies
  • Keeping up to date with what’s happening in their community and around the world
  • Shopping online, safely and securely, without leaving home.

The open day aims to show case what we do at Pina Pina Jarrinjaku and how we assist community members.  There will also be four interactive work stations set up for community members to engage in –

  1. Indigenous reading material – launching of Junga Yimi big books.
  2. Community newsletter – this station is seeking community ideas and what they would like to see
  3. Internet banking – this station will demonstrate how internet banking works.  Community members can register their interest if they would like to sign up for internet banking.
  4. Brain storming ideas for Pina Pina Jarrinjaku.

Jubilee Way parkrun – NT

Jubilee Way parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5km run, jog or walk around the Wynn Vale dam.

Every Saturday morning at 8am, everyone is invited to lace up their shoes, come along and enjoy this community event. The event startsing point is the Jubilee Community Centre. See the course page for more details.

Participants are encouraged to register before their first parkrun and bring along a copy of their registration barcode each week to receive access to their statistics and PB’s.

We encourage people of all abilities to take part. Dogs and prams are welcome on the course.
