Afternoon Tea

Glenroy Neighbourhood House will be hosting an Afternoon Tea. We will invite students and teachers from our varied courses and programs here, to join us to celebrate Following our Compass!

Afternoon Tea offers the chance for participants to meet fellow learners, and discover what opportunities are available for adult learning in our community. This special event honours the many ways adult learning can enrich our lives, whether it’s gaining new skills, pursuing passions, or connecting with others.

We invite our learners to prepare a few words to share at the event ahead of time, giving them the opportunity to engage with by sharing their voices.
To further capture the spirit of the theme this year, we plan to come together in light fun, by offering a slip of paper to each guest with the prompt: ‘What have you discovered this year?’, which we will collect in a box to share with the room. This will shine a light on the ongoing discoveries we make by following our compass.

As a part of their Ready for Hospitality course, Onemda students will be involved in preparations leading up to the event, prepping food, setting up and decorating the room, laying tables etc. This will be both aligned with their course learning, as well as engaging and exciting – as most will attend the event after these preparations.
