Froggy Facts After Dark by Landcare ACT
September 7 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm AESTFree
Throughout September we’re exploring the world of frogs. This is a special youth event, for bright young things aged 16 – 26 yrs.
Leap over the mid-week hump and bounce down to Gungahlin Valley Ponds for froggy facts after dark. Join FrogWatch Coordinator Anke Maria from Ginninderra Catchment Group and Sally Holliday from Landcare ACT’s Wellbeing through Nature program to explore this wetland habitat under the cloak of night.
Attune your sensory perception, identify calls of different frog species and learn how you can be involved in citizen science through the annual FrogCensus. Come down at 6.30pm for a hot chocolate before we set off in search of froggy friends at 7pm. Rug up, wear comfortable enclosed shoes, and bring a torch.
Gungahlin Valley Ponds are opposite Burgmann Anglican School. Park next to Birralee Scout Hall. *Please note there are no toilet facilities on site.
Throughout September we’re exploring the world of frogs with a range of events tailored to different audiences. To ensure we maximise capacity for attendance, please choose the event that’s the best fit for you.
The health and safety of attendees is our priority. All events and activities have measures in place to look after our community.
If circumstances change in Canberra, we may alter or postpone events at short notice. We will keep you informed via email and Facebook. Please adhere to physical distancing practices, practice good hand hygiene and stay at home if you are unwell.
