Gardening Skills for Everyone

September 3 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm AEST

The Haddon Community Learning Centre is holding two free workshops in celebration of Adult Learners Week. Our first workshop is about “Seed Propagation.”Come learn the tricks and tips for propagating seeds so that you can add colour to your garden beds, and also vegetables so you can grow your own food. With the mounting cost of fresh vegetables, growing your own is well worth doing. And nothing beats the taste and freshness of your own homegrown produce.

The second is about “Taking Cuttings.” With everyone looking to cut costs, gardening is one area that is a good place to start. Cuttings are a cheap means to fill your garden and you can multiply your plants for little, or no cost, and even share plants from friends’ admired gardens. You will learn how to propagate cuttings, how to take cuttings from ‘Correas’ (a native plant) and ‘osteopermums’ (colourful daisy plants) and how to apply these techniques to other plants as well.

You will be shown tips and tricks on how you can be successful at propagating plants, and you will gain basic knowledge and skill in the art (and science) of root propagation successfully at home.
