Weekly World Music Choir Classes
September 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm AESTFree
FREE weekly singing classes at two locations. Everyone is welcome! Feel good and build connections with world music, harmonies and laughter.
Weekly singing classes at two locations on the Mid North Coast are FREE for new comers and those facing financial difficulty for the next 18 sessions (Tuesday 26th July – 6th Dec). Classes run during school term only. When the project concludes, the singing classes will continue the following year at $20 per adult (teens and supervised children are free).
These classes are filled with laughter, fun and harmonies that bring joy and a sense of freedom.
The funding for this project from Resilience NSW Government is to bring the community together and heal our hearts from the stresses of the pandemic.
- Macksville: Tuesdays 6pm-8pm
- Kempsey: Thursdays 6pm-8pm .
- Call Ruth Nolan for location: 0431 868 149
Everyone is welcome! No previous experience necessary, no need to read music or audition. This is a supportive environment. There will be optional performing opportunities for those who wish.
Our songs are very varied.
In addition, we will be offering a weekend-long festival of singing workshops and performances in Grassy Head, October 21st-23rd. Participants can stay the full weekend or choose to attend a single day or a single workshop. We welcome all! Many familiar faces from the weekly singing groups will be in attendance.

Why should we jump on these opportunities?
Singing gives us a “natural high”, by releasing chemical compounds and happy hormones. “The natural high it gives you may also help with pain relief”. The article outlines studies showing significant benefits to the immune system and to mental health and wellbeing. Singing in a group combats many issues we face. “Studies have also reported increases of oxytocin, a social bonding hormone, which may help explain why singing in a group is such a good ice-breaker”.
