Adam Micklethwaite – WA
Learning Ambassadors
Adam, 39, was working as a tradesman when he was suddenly placed in a leadership role without any prior training. Wanting to back up his practical know-how with theory, he sought out formal study and completed his Diploma of Business online through North Metropolitan TAFE in WA. It was a way to put years of hands-on experience into context, sharpen his skills, and test his limits.
Not one to stop there, Adam is now enrolled in both the Diploma of Project Management and the Diploma of Leadership and Management, aiming to finish them by the end of the year. Balancing full-time work, study, and family life hasn’t been easy, but it’s strengthened his resilience and determination. Along the way, he’s learned to face challenges, embrace technology with confidence, and tackle people and problems alike with a solutions-focused approach, using skills he knows will stay with him well beyond the classroom.
Adam’s sense of humour has helped him navigate challenges. Inspiring and grounded, he’s growing into a natural leader who brings out the best in those around him.
For Adam, learning is about continually building the skills that matter – for the work, the team, and the future.
