Lennon Hopkins – Western Australia

Lennon, 45, is currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) at TAFE WA. With more than 18 years of experience in the fitness and circus industries, he has built a career as a fitness coach, circus instructor and mentor.
 
While Lennon initially approached the Certificate IV program intending to do just what was required to gain the qualification, he quickly became captivated. Immersing himself in the concepts of learning about learning, his perspective was transformed.

Finding that he was “really enjoying this, and learning is changing me,” Lennon has now been inspired to pursue PhD studies focusing on improving health and safety within the circus and fitness sector.
 
As an adult learner who is neurodiverse, Lennon brings a unique perspective, along with confidence, creativity and a natural ability to engage and inspire others. He is a skilled speaker and presenter with a passion for making complex ideas accessible and helping people build understanding that leads to safer practice, better decisions and meaningful change.
 
Through his studies, Lennon is continuing to develop the skills to connect research, education and real world practice. He believes learning is most powerful when it helps people understand complexity with greater clarity and confidence, creating positive change not only for individuals but for their communities too.
