Special 30th anniversary award – nominate a learner mentor
To celebrate ALW’s 30th anniversary, we have introduced a special STAR (Student Teaching And Relationship) Award to recognise an outstanding adult learner who demonstrates exceptional commitment to mentoring fellow students.
This new recognition is designed to celebrate learners who go above and beyond to support other learners through guidance, knowledge sharing, and leadership.

ALW 2025 Launch
We will officially launch ALW 2025 in Devonport, Tasmania, on Monday 1 September. 
The launch will be MCed by ABC Radio Tasmania journalist and host, Mel Bush.
After growing up on Tasman’s north west coast, Mel has worked in the media for over 35 years. She currently hosts the ABC’s Saturday Mornings.
Mel brings a deep passion for learning, literacy, and the stories that shape her home state and its communities.
