Sabrin Ramaban – Western Australia
Sabrin first connected with WA’s Read Write Now program after adapting to life in Australia and facing the challenge of learning a new language. She discovered the program through her local library and, always eager to find ways to help herself, took the opportunity to build her skills.
Despite having a young family to care for, Sabrin balances her learning with the demands of parenting, showing resilience and determination. Her commitment to building new skills is not only for her present needs, but also to prepare for future study and job opportunities. This forward-looking attitude, combined with her hard work and perseverance, makes her an inspiring example of lifelong learning.
Through Read Write Now, she has gained the confidence to step outside her comfort zone, embrace challenges, and believe in her ability to succeed. The program has not only strengthened her literacy but also inspired her to keep striving for improvement and take on extra self-study with determination. With the support of her tutor, she has made remarkable progress, transforming her skills, her outlook, and her belief in what is possible for her future.
Sabrin aspires to continue her learning through further study in aged care or community care/support work, driven by her desire to help others and make a positive difference in her community. By strengthening her literacy skills now, she is laying a strong foundation for success in future training, ensuring she can achieve excellent results and create better opportunities for herself and her family.
