Become a Local Story Collector

September 4, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am AEST

Free

Do you love history and would like to help people in our community to feel valued for their life knowledge and experiences?

Develop the skills with Libraries Tasmania to help someone in our community tell their story!
They might be a long-time resident in our community, an aged care resident, Home Library member, local community group/club member, legendary business owner etc.

Explore and be guided in how to use our Local Story Collector tools for oral, written and pictorial history stories, including:
* interview templates and techniques,
* Libraries Tasmania processes for local story storage,
* publication and submission, and
* how to use a variety of digital technologies.

Local historic stories are rare treasures for family members, close friends and the broader community to reflect on and be shared for years to come.
Join us in collecting, storing and sharing some amazing and unique local stories while having a rewarding volunteer experience.
