Melanie Cameron – Queensland

Melanie is a 22-year-old woman who continually strives to improve herself through learning, despite her intellectual impairment and disadvantaged background.

With the help of her support worker, Melanie has connected with the Kawana Library on the Sunshine Coast where she has taken up regular adult literacy classes. During this time, she has improved her reading, writing, and spelling, as well as built her social skills and self-confidence.

Melanie also volunteers and is determined to keep learning and improving herself so she can take on more opportunities in the future.
