Event tip : Tap into a need

Find out what skills or knowledge your community would find helpful and use that to plan your event. Former best event winners Harvey Community Resource Centre in WA discovered that for many people in their community managing on a budget was a challenge. Their Adult Learners Week sessions on No Interest Loans and basic budgeting were very popular.

‘We have a lot of people around here who are doing it tough. People don’t tend to talk about their finances. It’s a private thing and they can be very proud. So getting them along to talk about what money is available and how to budget better was great.’

‘The sessions were really well attended and we got great really positive comments from people who came along. It’s wonderful to give people that opportunity to do better for themselves.’
